Hurricane Preparedness for Local Businesses

It’s been busy hurricane season. As Jose threatens rain and winds throughout the Northeast. It’s a good time to review hurricane preparedness and loss prevention.

  1. Gather and secure critical papers such as contracts, client information, employee records and financial records
  2. Backup electronic data
  3. Inventory electronics and equipment including serial numbers
  4. Review your business interruption insurance coverage
  5. If you don’t have business interruption coverage look into adding it if possible
  6. Secure your property
  7. Install wood or shutters over windows and doors if needed
  8. Take in loose and portable items and store in a secure location
